Systeme.io vs ClickFunnels: an honest price test for 2026

Updated September 1, 2026

I run my own affiliate business on Systeme.io and I have used ClickFunnels too. So this is not a spec sheet copied from two pricing pages. It is what I actually think after living inside both tools, with the numbers checked against each company's current pricing page.

If you only remember one thing, remember this: the two platforms do broadly the same job, but the monthly bill is not close. That gap is the real story, so let's start there.

The short answer

Systeme.io and ClickFunnels both let you build sales funnels, send emails, host courses, and run an affiliate program. ClickFunnels is the older, more established funnel brand with a big template and community ecosystem. Systeme.io is the all-in-one that keeps the price low and includes a genuinely usable free plan.

For most beginners and solo creators, Systeme.io does the job for a fraction of the cost. ClickFunnels earns its price mainly once you are running at real scale with a team. More on that below, because I want this to be fair, not a sales pitch.

Pricing: where the real difference lives

Here is the part that decides it for most people.

Systeme.io's cheapest paid plan, Startup, is $17/month. ClickFunnels' cheapest plan, Launch, is $97/month ($81/month if you pay for the year up front). That is not a small markup. It is roughly five times more at the entry level.

Now look at the top of Systeme.io's pricing. The Unlimited plan is $97/month. In other words, Systeme.io's most expensive plan costs the same as ClickFunnels' cheapest one. When I first noticed that, it changed how I thought about the whole comparison.

There is one more thing that people forget to add up. Systeme.io charges no transaction fees on the sales you make through it. That matters once you are actually selling, because a percentage skimmed off every order adds up faster than a flat monthly fee.

What you actually get at each entry price

Price only means something next to what it buys, so here is the honest breakdown at the plans most people start on.

On the $17 Startup plan, Systeme.io gives you 5,000 contacts, unlimited sales funnels, 5 courses, and unlimited email sends. Before that, the free plan already covers 2,000 contacts, 3 funnels, one course, and unlimited emails, which is enough to launch something real without paying a cent.

On the $97 Launch plan, ClickFunnels gives you 10,000 contacts, unlimited funnels, 3 courses, 2 team members, 5 custom domains, and 50,000 emails per month. So ClickFunnels does hand you more contacts at that entry tier. But you are paying $97 to get there, and your email sending is capped by the month, while Systeme.io keeps sends unlimited on every plan including the free one.

Where ClickFunnels is genuinely worth the money

I said I would be fair, so here it is plainly. There are cases where I would tell someone to stay on ClickFunnels or choose it over Systeme.io.

If you are running at scale, ClickFunnels is built for it. Its higher tiers climb to 400,000 contacts and 1.2 million emails a month, with up to 20 team members and 20 separate workspaces. That is a lot of room for a growing company with several brands and staff logging in.

If your team already knows ClickFunnels, that fluency has value. Retraining people and rebuilding funnels costs time, and time is money. A tool your team can already drive fast is sometimes worth paying more for.

And if you specifically want the ClickFunnels ecosystem, the templates, the community, the courses built around its way of doing funnels, that ecosystem is larger and older than Systeme.io's. For some marketers, being able to buy a proven funnel template and drop it in is worth the premium on its own.

None of that is nothing. The question is whether it is worth roughly five times the monthly cost for what you are doing right now.

Where Systeme.io wins for most people

For a beginner, a solopreneur, or a small business watching cash flow, Systeme.io wins on the things that actually block people early on.

You can start free and stay free until the business justifies paying. Your email sends are never capped, so a good launch email to your whole list does not push you into a higher tier. There are no transaction fees eating your margins. And the paid step up, when you need it, is $17, not $97.

The course tools are more capable than people expect from an all-in-one at this price. I have built courses on it with drip content, quizzes, bundles, a student dashboard, video hosting, and comment sections. It is not a bare-bones add-on.

What happens as your list grows

Scaling is where the two diverge again, so it is worth a quick look before you commit.

ClickFunnels scales its included email volume by tier: 50,000 sends a month on Launch, 300,000 on Scale, 750,000 on Optimize, and 1.2 million on Dominate. Contacts climb the same way, from 10,000 on Launch to 400,000 on Dominate. If you send very high volumes to a large list, those bigger tiers are built for it, and ClickFunnels expects you to move up as you grow.

Systeme.io does not meter email at all. Sends are unlimited on every plan, and the $97 Unlimited plan carries unlimited contacts. So the way you scale is different: instead of climbing tiers to buy more email volume, you pay a flat fee and send as much as you need. For a business whose list and email frequency keep rising, that flat model is usually the cheaper path, which is a big part of why I stay on it.

Migrating a business from ClickFunnels to Systeme.io

Switching from ClickFunnels

If the price gap has you thinking about moving, the switch is easier than it used to be. Systeme.io includes a free migration service on its Unlimited plan, where their team helps move your funnels and content across, and there is a step-by-step guide for coming from ClickFunnels specifically.

I would still keep your ClickFunnels account live until your Systeme.io funnels are rebuilt and tested. Move the traffic over only once the new pages convert the way the old ones did.

Frequently asked questions

Is Systeme.io really cheaper than ClickFunnels, or is it cheaper because it does less?

It is genuinely cheaper for comparable core work: funnels, email, courses, and an affiliate program. ClickFunnels gives you more headroom at large scale (contacts, email volume, team seats), but at the entry level you are paying $97 versus $17 for the same basic jobs.

Does Systeme.io have a free plan and does ClickFunnels?

Systeme.io has a permanent free plan at $0 with 2,000 contacts and 3 funnels. ClickFunnels does not offer a permanent free plan; its pricing starts at $97/month on the Launch plan.

Can Systeme.io handle unlimited emails like it claims?

Yes, unlimited email sends are included on every Systeme.io plan, including the free one. ClickFunnels caps monthly sends by plan, starting at 50,000 per month on Launch.

Which one is better for selling online courses?

Both can sell courses. Systeme.io includes course hosting inside its low-cost plans, with unlimited courses from the $47 Webinar plan. ClickFunnels includes 3 courses on Launch and more on higher tiers. If courses are your entire business, also look at Kajabi.

Is it hard to move from ClickFunnels to Systeme.io?

It takes some rebuilding, since funnels do not transfer automatically between platforms. Systeme.io offers a free migration service on its Unlimited plan to help with the move.

Does ClickFunnels ever make more sense than Systeme.io?

Yes. If you run a larger operation with a team, need very high email volumes and multiple workspaces, or your team is already trained on ClickFunnels, it can be the better fit despite the price.

Verdict: who should pick which

Choose Systeme.io if you are starting out, running a lean business, or you simply do not want to pay $97 a month for tools you have not outgrown yet. The free plan lets you prove the idea first, and unlimited emails plus no transaction fees keep the running cost predictable. This is what I use for my own business.

Choose ClickFunnels if you are already at scale with a team, you want its larger template and community ecosystem, and the monthly cost is not the deciding factor. It is a capable, established platform, and for a bigger operation the extra room can justify the price.
