How to change a student's course access type
Sometimes you need to modify the way a student accesses a course after they have already been enrolled. On systeme.io you can easily change their access type at any time (Full access, Drip content, Partial access, or Partial access with drip).
Here is the complete guide.
1. Open the student profile
Log in to your systeme.io account.
Go to Assets → Courses → Students.
Click on the email address of the student whose access type you want to change. This opens their full profile.
2. Select “Change course access”
On the student profile page, scroll to the Enrollments section.
Find the course you want to modify, click the three dots (...) next to it, and select Change course access.
3. Choose the new access type and save
A popup will appear with a dropdown menu.
Select the new access type:
- Full access – immediate access to everything
- Drip content – progressive release according to the delays you set
- Partial access – access only to specific modules you choose
- Partial access with drip – combination of selected modules + drip delays
If you choose a Partial access type, an additional dropdown appears so you can select (or deselect) the modules the student should have access to.
Click Save to apply the changes.
What happens to the student’s progress
When you switch access types, systeme.io preserves the student’s progress whenever possible. Content that has already been unlocked usually remains available, and the drip schedule is recalculated if needed.
For a full explanation of each access type, see How are the different course access types different?.
You can also combine this action with other student management features such as resetting progress or revoking access completely.
Conclusion
Changing a student’s course access type on systeme.io is quick and flexible. In just a few clicks you can switch from Full access to Drip, Partial, or any combination, and even adjust which modules are available.
This feature gives you full control over the learning path of every student after enrollment.
Use it whenever you need to upgrade, downgrade, or customize access for a specific learner on systeme.io.
